Zion Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is made up of volunteer singers, who are dedicated and love to sing for our Lord. There is no experience needed, Richard will teach you how to sing better than you ever thought you could. We make a joyful noise and have fun singing for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our music fits the worship theme for each Sunday and is within the talent level of our group. Richard will even adapt the music to our specific needs. The choir meets on Wednesday evenings for a short rehearsal from 6:30pm to 7pm. Contact Richard Burke at rpalburke@gmail.com Come join

Zion Handbells

The Zion Ringers is a volunteer handbell group. No experience is necessary. We will train. We joke that; “you only need to count to four (maybe six) and ring the bell in your right and left hand as directed.” Ringing brings people together in community like no other musical group. Your two notes are a part of the musical whole. A special team spirit develops, because we rely on one another, and as a result, spiritual bonds form. Even outside of rehearsals we find ourselves praying for each other throughout the week. And oh, the blessings when we come together to ring. We have great times fellowshipping and making music for the Lord. The group rehearses at 7pm on Wednesday evenings in the Sanctuary. Join us! Contact Richard Burke at rpalburke@gmail.com

Zion Orchestra

Did you ever play an instrument in band or orchestra? Do you currently play an instrument in high school or college? Then whether you are an adult, a youth or college age, you should join Zion’s orchestra. Dust off that old instrument and play it for the Lord. The Zion Orchestra plays for special worship services throughout the year like Reformation, All-Saints, Christmas Eve, Palm Sunday, Good Friday Tenebrae, Easter, and Pentecost. Richard orchestrates and arranges the music to our specific need and talent levels. We rehearse a couple of times before events on Sunday afternoons as needed in the Sanctuary. It is a lot of fun breaking out those old musical chops and praising the Lord with our instruments. Contact Richard Burke at rpalburke@gmail.com

“Praise the Lord in His sanctuary; … Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with lute and harp!

Praise Him with tambourine and dance; praise Him with strings and pipe!

Praise Him with sound cymbals; praise Him with loud clashing cymbals!

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!”

                                           (Psalm 150, ESV)

“When in our music, God is glorified, and adoration leaves no room for pride, it is as thought the whole creation cried: Alleluia!

How oft, in making music, we have found a new dimension in the world of sound as worship moved us to a more profound Alleluia!

So has the Church, in liturgy and song, in faith and love, through centuries of wrong, borne witness to the truth in ev’ry tongue, Alleluia!

And did not Jesus sing a psalm that night when utmost evil strove against the light? Then let us sing, for whom He won the fight: Alleluia!

Let ev’ry instrument be tuned for praise, let all rejoice who have a voice to raise, and may God give us faith to sing always: Alleluia!”
