Zion Lutheran Church was founded in 1886 when Rev. Barthel of Hamilton came to Abilene on the Texas and Pacific railroad. With the help of Lutheran men in Abilene, services began to be held once a month in a Baptist church building.

Since that time, Zion has grown and developed into a friendly group of belivers who love to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Zion's staff includes:

Pastor:
Rev. Clyde Kieschnick
 Church Secretary:
Suzanne Rhodes

Director of Christian Education
Pat Blake
